Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement provided at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Armagh, drivers must be at least 21 years old. Age restrictions may differ depending on the vehicle type, with extra fees applicable for those under 25. A valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of current address. Additionally, valid payment information and a security deposit must be provided, along with any other requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Armagh office. A deposit may be needed to confirm your booking. Total payment and a security deposit are commonly required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT when applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, handled securely by trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is necessary to conduct a thorough inspection to identify and report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be created and signed by both parties. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charges may apply. Ensure that the vehicle is returned with the same level of fuel as at the start of the rental; refueling fees will be applied if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please contact us as soon as possible if you anticipate being late. You will be liable for any parking fines, traffic infractions, or charges incurred during the rental period, along with an administration fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Comprehensive coverage details and excess amounts can be found in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available, allowing you to lower your financial liability. It is beneficial to review these options thoroughly. You remain accountable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount unless additional coverage is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance status.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For detailed information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- Use of the vehicle for any illegal activities is prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or similar dangerous maneuvers is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials is strictly forbidden. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is prohibited. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purpose and within designated passenger and weight limits. Operating the vehicle outside agreed geographical boundaries requires explicit permission.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed under applicable law in Armagh, Car Hire disclaims any responsibility for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claim will not exceed the total amount paid for the rental in the prior 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
9. Local Law Compliance
These Terms are governed by the laws of Armagh. Any disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of Armagh's courts.
10. Terms Updates
We reserve the right to change these Terms at any time. Updates take effect immediately upon being posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
